Something like...

1. Waking up at 3am
2. Have breakfast while catching up on things
3. Do some work for a few hours
4. Break at 9am for lunch and groceries
5. Any other pending work
6. Stop when temps get too high again, for sleep till next day

Doesn't seem like the worst of plans.
Let's see if I can actually do it though...

Hot weather has come, really cannot deal with it.
So I am wondering about:

1. Getting up early while it is still dark, doing some work, and then resting while temps rise

2. Waking up late while still hot, work during the night and rest shortly after sun rises

In the past I did option 2 regularly, but now I need to participate on meetings so option 1 will have to do.

Who wants a new scope?

For those in the know, it is a sassy one yes 😅

Apple likes jack2 so much it keeps breaking things so new jack2 releases need to be made 😡

Things broke in 12.1
github.com/jackaudio/jack2/iss

Now in 12.3 in a different way
github.com/jackaudio/jack2/iss

"breaking" more like changing how it works, leading to breakage in software that was assuming a certain behaviour.
still very shitty to do...

On Linux land it is always "we dont break userspace".
Apple seems more like "screw you, we do what we want, now give us money" 🤷

Cardinal 22.05 is here!

Finally with Fundamental modules, plus a bunch of other goodies.
Best release so far! 🚀 🚀 🚀

It takes care of all the major items I wanted to see in Cardinal, and seems to run quite well and stable.
Wanted to get this out of the way before moving to other things.

With that said, have fun!

Sometimes I wonder if open-source tools would be better if people were forced to always pay for the software they use.

The imsta.org/piracy.php page throws some interesting thoughts.

> Serum reportedly has a piracy rate of 94% and it is still being developed.
> It would be a mistake to infer that the popularity of a music software product automatically translates into riches for the software developer.

🤔

The new fundamental panels are all done!
More details at github.com/CardinalModules/Fun

This will be part of Cardinal 22.05, going to be a great one!

Recently been doing an audio-to-cv-pitch plugin, based on previous work by a coworker.

The result is this little LV2 plugin, can be seen at github.com/DISTRHO/PitchTracki

Additionally, because this is CV, added it in Cardinal just now too.
Scope shows it is able to follow the frequency change of an oscillator through an LFO.
Neat

Was just contacted by GitHub regarding github.blog/2022-04-15-securit

1 week ago:
> Should we identify additional customers who have been affected, we will notify those customers promptly. If you do not receive a notification email from us, that means GitHub has not identified your account as impacted by the current incident.

Today:
> GitHub will have completed directly notifying each affected user for whom we were able to detect abuse using the stolen OAuth tokens

I'm starting to feel important 😂

VCV Rack Fundamental modules are coming to Cardinal!
New panels contributed by a user on GitHub.
The bulk of the work for the implementation is done, now it is just a few missing custom widgets needed and then some polish (making sure everything is consistent in terms of position, size, style, etc)

The next 22.05 is going to be a very fine release. ✨

Hi everyone, today is release day again, and we got 3 small releases, basically just making sure things keep working.

First, updating the new jack-example-tools to fix the "alsa_in" regression on the 1st release
jackaudio.org/news/2022/04/15/

Then an update to JACK2, dealing with submitted patches and fixing compatibility with latest macOS
jackaudio.org/news/2022/04/15/

And finally a few fixes for Carla as well (also correcting a regression, plugin scanning was broken)

Enjoy!
