631 modules, and not fully done yet!
Since uploaded images get tiny here, I put it on my server.
See them with all its glory! 🀩

Surge would be super cool to have, though the big amount of dependencies will make it tricky to add, still all doable though. (just hope you are not the one that has to do the build haha)

PS: I tried making a screenshot with the modules at 100%, but I get out of VRAM and window goes black. Plus the screenshot tool crashes anyway πŸ˜‚

With Rack v2 officially out, I am slowly starting to write details about the Cardinal project.

There is now a proper readme, license page (still need to write about artwork and CC), project overview page, and rack pro vs cardinal differences page.

It is still a very much work-in-progress, with some details not yet defined and things to implement... but already works for quite a lot of things.

In any case, I am happy with the readme as entry point.

Opinions welcome!

Aria Salvatrice has given the green light for the use of the previously-archived-but-now-revived-for-cardinal-modules! πŸŽ‰

Let's go dark/night mode!

@unfa live chat!! so no need for owncloud perhaps, if peertube can do the chat system nicely enough.

Things I never thought I would miss - my desk. 😒

I am in the final stages of moving to a new place, almost done now.
Nothing like a proper desk for doing work. πŸ–₯️

VCV Rack 2 release is easily THE big news. That said, I feel like December is going to be epic, with Blender 3.0 and darktable 3.8 definitely coming, as well as a certain prospect of Krita 5.0 and Siril 1.0 to arrive as well.

On a personal level, I have a few videos and a new podcast episode in the pipeline. I'll be lucky if I deliver all of this in 2021 though! :)

recursive clone needed if you want to build yourself, otherwise use the premade builds under actions (last one still building atm)

Let me know how it works for you, just be aware the vst3 version is unfinished.

Supposedly Rack v2 will be out this month, but there is not much left of that... πŸ˜…

Anytime now...

In the mean time we can do more experiments with dark mode. The new Fundamental modules look nice in this way. πŸŒ”

@meka best chance would be to have someone to start hanging out in irc.libera.chat channel AND take over as maintainer of the BSD parts.

I worry about merging that and then having to maintain it myself.
I certainly do not know enough about BSD to do it myself.

So if you find someone willing to step up to maintain the BSD portion, we can begin the process of merging the changes.

@wolftune That is a great use of space!

PS: it is somewhat funny the preview for the site is the cookie consent form πŸ˜… oops

Don't mind me, just testing how big of an image I can upload here...

Does it get scaled down?

Now that Cardinal runs more or less stable, I started some attempts at creating background soundscapes.

I am not that good at this CV/modular stuff yet, but does not seem too bad either.
The modular part is only doing sequencing for now, creating synths from scratch is something that is going to take quite some days to learn still...

Already happy with the results so far, and that is what counts in the end πŸ˜€

@l03s @neauoire @calcifer @jrc03c Sorry to butt in on a bit of a tangent, but perhaps it's a good opportunity to start referring to device lifespans in terms of decades. "How many decades are you planning to support your new mobile phone with updates? Zero? You're not going to support it at all?"

Since many modules in Cardinal are CC-NC, let's just go with CC-NC artwork then...

Go Miku for that UwU feeling inside your modular environment 😊

@unfa they will get less tight with time no? and it only needs a little bit exposed in the right place to be critical.. just seems a bit risky. taping the bottom part of the wire up in the frame could help, so gravity does not pull down on the cable merge block.
